A trio of family-friendly events had Invershin abuzz with activity last weekend with two days of walking, dancing – and breadmaking.

Invershin Hall’s ‘Feel Good’ weekend kicked off on Saturday March 23 with adults and children taking part in a morning of kneading dough, and shaping it into a variety of rolls from twists, knots and bloomers, to hedgehogs and snails.

In the afternoon, a family walk was held at Shin Falls with a wander around the short loop along past the pond.

With the weather less than favourable, the group were then welcomed for a hot drink at 'The Salt House', supplied by Annie and Tom at the Salt & Salmon Company - Falls of Shin, funded by Invershin Hall.

On Sunday, participants sprung into action with the return of the very popular “Roller Disco”.

A total of 33 children roller skated, scootered and skateboarded around the hall while having a “boogie” to the music.

At lunchtime, the crowd flocked through to the tea room for hot dogs, pizza, fruit and juice, as well as some sandwiches and hot drinks for the adults.

The event ended with a classic conga.

A representative for the hall said: “Invershin Hall committee were really pleased with the success of the weekend and are keen to continue family events throughout the year. We received a lot of local support, and also from families as far as Golspie, Dornoch & Tain.

“These events are so important as they are aimed at the whole family unit, allowing them to be sociable in a local setting taking part in events that are affordable.”
