Members of Invershin Hall committee say they are thrilled with the success of their Feel Good Feel Fit Festival which ran throughout March and was well supported.
Events held included a family walk, family yoga sessions, two pop-up cafés, two singing for health sessions and a holistic night.
Funding to hold the festival was sourced from the Highland Third Sector Interface and the Scottish Government.
Elissa Steven of the hall committee said: “The hall was full for the family yoga sessions led by Gill Davey with 51 people in total attending. Thanks to the funding we were also able to make the regular Friday morning yoga sessions free for everyone to attend.
“Both the yoga sessions were followed by pop-up cafés offering soup, sandwiches, toasties, tea and cake - free for everyone to enjoy. We also used some of the funding to purchase a waffle make and fresh waffles were a great hit at the cafés.”
Simon Laraway from the Vocal Bureau led the singing for health sessions and led participants through a variety of songs.
Some 16 people attended the holistic night which consisted of a yoga session, mindful drawing, a Kimchi demonstration and a relaxing sound bath session.
Elissa continued: “The committee are really pleased with the success of the festival. We understand the importance of bringing local people, adults and families, together to enjoy activities and have time to chat and interact with others who have similar interests.
“We’d like to thank everyone who attended any of the events, village halls aren’t sustainable without the support of the local community. We hope that Invershin Hall will continue to be a meeting place for everyone."
