Lairg Winterfest has been cancelled again this year due to the ongoing coronavirus situation.

The popular winter event is organised by Lairg and District Community Initiatives and in past years has attracted hundreds of people to the area for a day packed with activities.

LDCI chairperson Kaye Hurrion said the group’s board were due to meet this week when future winterfests would be discussed.

“It is really a guessing game as to whether we hold it next year,” she said. “I am not sure we are going to go back to people feeling comfortable with hundreds packing into the community hall at the same time.”
