The 28-year old, who is raising money for the club and in aid of Ukrainian refugees, set out last Thursday evening at around 8pm and reached Golspie some 26 hours later, at 10pm on Friday night.

She managed to get just four hours sleep in the back of her partner Tom Woolley’s van. He and her brother Clarke Hutchison provided a support service.

Along the way she was supported by her father Duncan Hutchison, who is well known for his bid to row the Atlantic in a homemade boat, and other family members as well as fellow footballers from her squad.

Franci said: “I had some stops for food and the occasional stop to catch up with folk who kindly came out to support or stopped to donate or offer words of encouragement.

“My dad stepped in and out of the challenge as well as my brother. Friends from the Sutherland team joined in too, which was a massive boost at times when I’d hit a wall. The feeling of running the last four miles with the girls was something else. It certainly took my mind off the blisters and achy legs.

“What a fantastic, supportive squad. Thanks to them all as well as to one of my coaches, David, who joined in on a number of occasions, including some of the stretch between Rosehall and the Mound where I was really struggling.

“Thanks to everyone. Whether you joined in physically or sent messages of support or donated, I really appreciate it.”

Franci has raised £2265 so far with more coming in. To donate, click here.

Franci continued: “The money raised will be split between the team and the Ukraine appeal (via the football charity Common Goal).”

Franci reached Golspie some 26 hours after she had started out. She has thanked teammates for their support.
