Rising musical star from Lairg releases catchy new single

Singer and songwriter Fifidiny Greasley, who hails from Lairg, has reached a significant milestone in her musical career.

Her latest single Nobody Knows has been released from her upcoming debut EP Don't you Fear.

An electro-pop anthem with an energetic rhythm and a catchy melody, Nobody Knows is about young love and the expectations of society.

It premiered on BBC Radio Scotland's The Afternoon Show and was the track of the week.

Fifidiny was able to release her debut EP thanks to funding support from Creative Scotland.

Now she is encouraging other creatives who may be struggling financially to seek support from the public body, which distributes funding from the Scottish Government and the National Lottery.

She said: "As an independent artist, this journey would have taken years, but Creative Scotland has accelerated my path, enabling me to collaborate with industry professionals and share my work to the world.

"Any success I have in the industry is down to Creative Scotland making dreams like mine come true. If you have a creative project that you are passionate about, I highly recommend submitting an application form, you never know how soon you could turn your vision to a reality."

Fifidiny is preparing to unveil the rest of the tracks on the EP, which is due for release in June 2024.

She will be performing at Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh, on February 25.

Fifidiny, a former pupil of Lairg Primary School and Golspie High School, also enjoyed further success when she won the prestigious Proudly Black & Scottish Artist of the Year award for the second year running on October 21.
