A Brora furniture and hardware shop is said to remain cordoned following reports of a robbery there this morning.

A police car is parked to the side of Steps Emporium, located on the other side of the road from Station Square.

The emporium also houses a post office branch, which it is thought might have been the target of any robbery.

Police said a member of staff was threatened during the incident.

A local resident told the Northern Times: “Police knocked on local doors this morning, probably around 9.30am, just asking if we’d seen anyone or anything unusual, no more than that.

“It has been quite the excitement for this little village.”

Roadblocks were also set up.
