A plan for new housing in Golspie is set to go on display in the village today.

Highland Council has previously outlined a proposal to build 21 homes on a greenfield site known as the "hockey pitch" and located to the rear of Sibell Road.

Concerns have been raised over the new housing development with neighbours Jonathan and Jill Haylett saying it is too "crowded".

Golspie Community Council chairman Ian Sutherland has also queried whether it is an appropriate site given the standard of the existing roads infrastructure.

At the group's meeting last night it was stated that some revisions had been made to the plans.

Mr Haylett, who was in attendance, said: "I do think the new plan is considerably better than the old one, although I think there are still some outstanding problems."

He called for the local authority to undertake greater engagement with residents whose houses border the site.

The architectural drawing boards will be on display in the community centre for a fortnight.

Highland Council housing development officer Helen Cameron was expected to be at the community lounge today.
