Kate Kenmure, area district manager for NHS Highland, said: "We are pleased with how well attended the event was and the engagement from those present was great to see and hear."

The hub is being pushed forward by NHS Highland in partnership with Highland Council and conservation and tourism organisation Wildland Ltd.

Joe Dunn, director of build development at Wildland, said: "The overriding atmosphere was positive, and the attendance was steady from 2pm to 7pm.

"The message from the community is that they are supportive of the proposals and are eager to see the project progress."

NHS Highland and Highland Council is to hold an online meeting with Tongue Community Council next Tuesday, November 15, to discuss the new health hub and the redesign of health services on the north coast.
