Melvich Primary School's 69 shoe boxes full of festive cheer

Melvich Primary School and residents in the area have once again responded generously to Blythswood Care's annual Shoe Box Appeal.

Pupils have spent the last couple of weeks filling 69 shoe boxes with practical items, as well as a few treats, and wrapping them in Christmas paper.

The boxes were collected from the school on Thursday and have now started the journey to Eastern Europe where they will be gifted to impoverished families.

Since the first Shoe Box Appeal in 1993 Blythswood Care have delivered more than 2.5 million boxes.
