Dornoch Heritage Society unveils winter events programme

Dornoch Heritage Society has unveiled its winter progamme of talks and events.

Events start on Thursday, October 12, with a talk 'Tall Towers, Grass Roots' by Ken McElroy and Iain Maclean from the Caithness Broch Project.

The talk takes place at Royal Dornoch Golf Club from 7.30pm – the society's AGM is to be held from 7pm.

Ken and Iain will speak about the development of brochs in Scotland and how they would attempt to build their own version.

Other speakers lined up over the next few months include Major General Patrick Marriott who will talk about the Battle of Littleferry; Robin Sutherland on historic engineering in East Sutherland; and Todd Warnock on 1909 – the greatest year in Royal Dornoch history.

Also scheduled is a coffee morning, film night and Burns night.
