Despite the eventual scoreline, Melvich dug in and held their hosts for the majority of the first half – and it took a free kick right before the interval to break the deadlock, Robert Fisher finding the net from the set piece.

It was 2–0 soon after the restart with Liam Mcleod netting for Wanderers, and six minutes later, Scott Miller made it three.

With ten minutes remaining, Brora wrapped up the win and took all the points with a second from Miller.

Melvich's second half misery was compounded by a sending off for manager Alan Murray.

In League 1, defending champions Helmsdale United also hit four goals, recording an impressive win away to Lochinver.

The east Sutherland side took a 1–0 lead into the interval thanks to a goal from Lewis Mackillop, but a better start from the hosts in the second half saw them level through Josh Sands.

Mackillop restored United's lead with a 30 yard drive, but the advantage was short lived as player-manager Ally Macleod made it 2–2.

Fresh legs proved the difference in the latter stages though, and United scored a third through Kevin Cairns, before netting again through Colin Henstridge, taking the score to 4–2.

Elsewhere in League 1, Lochbroom were awarded a 3–0 win and three points due to Lairg Rovers being unable to raise team, while in League 2, Inver and Tain Thistle drew 1–1.

This Saturday in League 1, Helmsdale host Lochbroom, while Golspie Stafford welcome Lochinver. In League 2, Brora travel to meet Tain, while Invergordon Social Club are at home to Inver.
