With North West Sutherland amateur league pacesetters Helmsdale United and Lairg Rovers both without a game, Saturday provided a chance for the teams below them to put some points on the board.

At the Meadows, Dornoch sprung back into action after a two week layoff with a 3–0 victory against Lochinver.

Dornoch broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Finn As-Chainey broke clear to find Adrian Voigt inside the box, and the midfielder made no mistake with a good finish.

Soon after the interval, an unfortunate own goal extended Dornoch's lead, when a Voigt cross met the head of a Lochinver defender and was diverted into the net.

In the final moments, the Zeebs got their third and it came through John Leslie who did well to pass to Voigt for his second of the game.

Voigt now sits on six goals for the season as Dornoch's top scorer.

Melvich, who lost 12–0 to leaders Helmsdale last week, made a better first of it against visitors Inver, but had no better luck at home in adding points to their tally.

Inver's new signing Bruce Urquhart grabbed the opener, and it wasn't long before player-manager Paul Connolly doubled their advantage with a shot that flew in directly from a corner.

The visitors wrapped up the points with with a stylish volley from Tyler Gray to win 3–0.

This weekend, with Golspie Stafford in Highland Amateur Cup action, there will be only three games played in the North West Sutherland league.
