Victory for Brora golfer David Joel at Royal Dornoch Golf Club

Brora Golf Club member David Joel claimed victory in his debut at the North Golf Winter Alliance fixture at Royal Dornoch.

He recorded victory by two shots thanks to a score of 66. He holed five birdies during his round which consisted two halves of 33.

Fellow Brora Golf Club member Ross Naismith claimed second place with a round of 68.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club member Allan Cameron finished in third place on 70 but on a better inward half.

In the category one competition, Calum Macdonald took the title with a nett score of 68.

David Mackay, of Portmahomack, finished in second place with a nett score of 71. Robert Macdonald was in third place with a nett score of 72.

Steve Macdonald, of Thurso, won the category two section with nett 66. Marc Keith, of Durness, was second with 68 with Mark Mackay third on 71.

Laura Durrand, of Thurso, won the ladies title.
