SWL Cup semi-final rescheduled
GOLSPIE Sutherland’s SWL Cup semi-final tie against Muir of Ord Rovers, which was postponed last Saturday due to a frozen pitch, has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 22 at King George V Park.
Thurso await the winners in the final after they defeated fellow Caithness outfit Halkirk United 5-0 in the other semifinal at Recreation Park.
James Murray led the way with a double and Sean Stewart, Graham MacNab and Sandy Sutherland got the rest as the Vikings eventually overran their local rivals. Tomorrow (Saturday), Golspie play Muir of Ord Rovers on league business at Pavilion Park.
Golspie’s John Smith is hoping to be fit again for the match, while Rovers will be without Scott Morrison and Sandy Sutherland. However, Kevin Leitch is available again for the Ross-shire side.
In the other matches, league leaders Thurso host Clachnacuddin, while Alness United and Invergordon clash in the Easter Ross derby at Dalmore Park.
Fixtures: Saturday, December 8 – League (Sponsored by HRL Scrap) – 1pm – Alness United v Invergordon; Muir of Ord Rovers v Golspie Sutherland; Thurso v Clachnacuddin.
