Sutherland Women agree sponsorship deal with Bidwells for training tops for the next four years.
SUTHERLAND Women Football Club have agreed a new sponsorship deal with energy and renewables consultancy firm Bidwells.
The Highlands and Islands League outfit, who are top of the table after a 5-0 win against Clachnacuddin on Sunday, have agreed a deal with the firm to provide them with training tops for the next four years.
Sutherland Women FC, who were established in 2020, quickly gained popularity as a safe and inclusive environment for women of all ages and abilities to play football.
With a dedicated squad of 35 women and a thriving junior team that attracts over 60 kids to training sessions, the club has become a cornerstone of the local community.
Valerie Houston, Grid Consultant at Bidwells, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "These ladies are some of society's goodies and have done a tremendous job for ladies' football in Sutherland, which relies wholly on sponsorship and fundraising. We are delighted to support the Sutherland Women’s FC and contribute to their growth and success."
Siobhan MacBeath, Nadene Mcculloch and Karen Smith, founding members of the club, all attended Golspie High School and currently work for the NHS, Nadene as a community nurse, Siobhan as a paramedic and Karen in the Community Health Care Support team. Their shared passion for football and community engagement has been instrumental in the club's rapid growth and success.
The new training tops, sponsored by Bidwells, were unveiled in time for the first home match of the season on Sunday at Couper Park in Helmsdale. The sponsorship not only enhances the team's visibility but also provides essential support for their training and development initiatives.
