SUTHERLAND Women are one game away from reaching the Highlands and Islands League Cup final.
Caithness stand in their way of reaching the final with the two teams set to clash at Couper Park in Helmsdale on Sunday at 2pm.
The two teams held a dress rehearsal for the semi final two weeks ago when Sutherland came out on top in a five-goal thriller in Helmsdale 5–3.
Another close encounter is expected when the two teams clash on Sunday.
Sutherland made it through to the semi finals of the competition last month when they thrashed Buckie 7–1 in Buckpool.
Caithness progressed to the last four of the competition when they beat Orkney 4–1 in Thurso.
The winners of the semi final will face either Inverness Caledonian Thistle Development or Clachnacuddin in the final.
Those two teams meet in the Inverness derby on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in the Highlands and Islands League last weekend, Brora Rangers suffered a heavy 13–0 defeat to league leaders Caley Thistle Development at Inverness Royal Academy.
Caley Thistle Development have scored an incredible 77 goals in their five games this season and have conceded only two.
But they are only two points ahead of second place Buckie Ladies, with those two teams set to clash in their next league match on September 12.
Buckie were also in rampant form last weekend as they thrashed Kirkwall City 17–3 with the game being played at a neutral ground in Thurso.
The score was 8–3 at half time, but Buckie accelerated their way to victory in the second half as they scored nine more goals.
Defending champions Clachnacuddin are four points behind the league leaders in third after they defeated Orkney 11–0 in Stromness.
Betty Ross scored a hat trick with Gemma Nutt and Chloe Macleod both finding the net twice. Nicky Macdonald, Claire Masterton and Lindsay Calder also scored.
Sutherland had a bye week last weekend in the Highlands and Islands League while Caithness were held to a 2–2 draw at Nairn St Ninian.
