Six clubs compete for Skibo Plate

Dornoch Bowling Club hosted their annual Skibo Plate competition on Sunday and welcomed entries from Brora, Golspie, Lybster, Muir of Ord, Fortrose and Rosemarkie and Inverness.

It took the format of a round robin in three sections, each section winner and the best runner up reaching the semi-finals.

The winners of the 1st section were G Chalmers and B Sutherland, Fortrose, with 10 points and 50 shots.

The winners of the 2nd section were A Glidden and C Macaskill, Dornoch, with 7 points and 28 shots.

The winner of the 3rd section were A Anderson and M Bowman, Lybster, with 8 points and 35 shots.

D Johnson and D Melville, Golspie, took the best runner up place with 8 points and 35 shots pipping B Watson and H Cameron, Dornoch, who were only one shot behind them.

The winners were each presented with their trophies and a bottle of Skibo Castle Malt Whisky which was generously donated by Skibo. The day was enjoyed by everyone
