SCOURIE and Bonar Bridge both say they will go into tomorrow’s Sutherland derby after playing their best matches of the season last weekend.

Inverness Athletic beat Scourie 4-0.

Bonar Bridge stunned Loch Ness 1–0 at Migdale with Stan Keith’s goal giving them their second win of the campaign.

Scourie also pushed Inverness Athletic all the way who after only being one–down after 80 minutes, eventually succumbed to a 4–0 defeat.

Scourie manager Tony Reynoldson says his team eventually ran out of steam at Inverness, but still hailed it as their best performance of the campaign so far.

He wants his players to carry that momentum into the derby to pick up their first points of the season tomorrow.

“It was by far our best performance of the season and everyone was happy with how they performed.

“It was the first time we had played as a team, we had done it in patches before, but everyone worked for each other.

“Everyone is eager for this weekend as it is the last game before Christmas and a win would be lovely, but to play well would be good.”

Bonar Bridge manager Robert Mitchell says they are now targeting a fourth placed finish.

He insisted the only people who weren’t shocked with their win over Loch Ness were themselves.

“I wouldn’t say it was a shock because although our results have been poor, our performances have been getting better,” he said.

“You could see that something was coming and it was quite nice to get a win against Loch Ness given the scoreline predictions.

“We are looking for a win but we know it won’t be easy.

“Scourie are looking for their first points and will be gunning for us.

“I will be saying to the boys about getting into fourth place. If Alness beat Loch Ness and we beat Scourie on Saturday, we are on equal points with Loch Ness and that would give us something to aim for.”
