The 30-year-old has been appointed as the new manager of the Migdale outfit taking over from Robert Mitchell and Scott MacGruer.

Despite finishing bottom of the table on goal difference, Bonar Bridge improved as a competitive outfit this season, earning respectable scoreline in most matches.

But Heath says Bonar Bridge still let in too many goals for his liking last season, letting in 65 goals in 20 league matches.

He is looking for the team to be a better defensive unit next term.

"I want to make us a team that are harder to beat as we conceded too many goals last season," said Heath.

"There were only a few games against Golspie and Inverness Athletic where we suffered heavy defeat.

"But there weren't many games where we were outplayed, so we will look to improve on the points total.

"However, there were too many goals last season, so I want to make us tougher and makes teams feel they don't want to come to Migdale to play."

Heath joined the coaching team with Mitchell and MacGruer last season after suffering a wrist injury during the second season of the campaign.

He says he will solely concentrate on being of boss of the club and has no desire to be a player/manager.

"It wasn't a hard decision to take the manager's job as I enjoyed being up there last season as a player.

"When I Broke my wrist playing for them in the second game of the season and Rob and Scott asked me to help with coaching to keep me involved and it keeps me involved.

"It turned out I enjoyed the coaching side of things, so I am happy to take over.

"I will concentrate on the coaching rather than playing as it is fairer on the squad.

Rather than worrying about what I am doing, I will look at what the team is doing and improve the squad.

Heath, is also the manager of Conon Bridge in the Inverness Amateur League.

He says he will looking to add new additions to the team, but believes if he can keep the bulk of the squad, improvement can continue at Migdale.

"I want to carry on the improvement at Bonar as Rob and Scott worked wonders up there.

"I want to keep the core of the squad as I have played with them and they are a good bunch of lads.

"But naturally I will have to take in new boys as well to keep it fresh and with some boys leaving too.

"A lot of the boys have said they want to stay at the club.

"We have a young squad and every year we are getting better and better."
