There was little in the way of goalmouth chances in the first half but Nairn got the spark they needed with the introduction of substitute Craig MacMillan around the hour mark. The former Buckie Thistle forward broke the deadlock in the 67th minute when he fired the ball into the net from just inside the 18-yard box.

It got worse for Brora five minutes later when Paul MacLeod doubled the lead with a looping shot which sailed over the head of the Brora keeper.

Brora tried hard to get a foothold in the game but a snap shot from Robbie Duncanson a couple of minutes from the end sealed the points for Nairn.

Brora Rangers – McCarthy, MacKintosh (Munro 87), Finlayson, MacLeod, Lamont, Golabek, Lawrie (Bruce 80), Moir, Kerr, Ross, Baxter (Rutherford 50). Unused subs – Cunningham, Martin.

* TOMORROW (Saturday) Brora host Buckie Thistle at Dudgeon Park – kick-off 3pm. The following Wednesday (April 18), they travel to the Highland capital to play Clachnacuddin at Grant Street Park.
