LOCHINVER moved three points clear at the top of the North West Sutherland League with an impressive 3-1 victory over Embo at Back Park.

Embo took the lead against the run of play in the 20th minute. A long ball from the back caught out the Lochinver defence and Jacob Sayers slotted the ball home for his third of the season.

Lochinver grabbed a deserved equaliser in the 35th minute when Ally MacLeod got on the end of a cross to head into the net.

Embo had their fair share of the ball in the second period without threatening the Lochinver goal. But the visitors struck again in the 72nd minute when Embo lost possession in the middle of the park and Reece Rooney raced clear to net. Lochinver wrapped up the points eight minutes from time when Jake Lockett latched on to a Duncan Matheson knock-on and rounded the keeper to score.

Fixtures – Tomorrow (Saturday): Durness v Embo; Tongue v Melvich.
