Football league changes mind as matches postponed due to Queen's death will go ahead as planned

Football matches in the North Caledonian League will go ahead after originally being postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The North Caledonian Football Association have announced that

Alness United v Inverness Athletic, Golspie Sutherland v Bonar Bridge and Halkirk United v Thurso will take place on Wednesday night as planned.

All three matches were originally postponed as a mark of respect to the death of the Queen last Thursday.

Last Saturday's matches were also called off two days after the Queen's death.

But the North Caledonian Football Association announced after discussions with the SFA and member clubs, it was agreed the matches will go ahead on Wednesday as previously planned.

All matches will have a minute's silence before kick off in memory of the Queen.
