Ladies battle it out for open honours

THERE was good weather for the Bonar Bridge/Ardgay Ladies’ Open on Saturday and a wide representation, with players from as far away as Abernethy, Thurso, Spean Bridge and Ullapool.

Unfortunately other golfing events restricted the entry this year, but a good time was had by all.

Results:

Silver Scratch and winner of the Renton Findlayson Bowl was Anne Ryan of Tain with a gross 76.

Silver handicap winner of the Ledmore Trophy with a score of 68 was Angela Williamson (20) of Thurso; 2 Angela Ford (10) Ullapool 69 bih; 3 Maureen Wemyss (19) Bonar Bridge/Ardgay 69.

Bronze scratch winner was Deirdre Wlodorcyzk from Tain with a gross 93.

Bronze One Handicap winner of the Gledfield Millennium Trophy was Jean Gordon (23) Abernethy 70; 2 Pat MacIver (27) Spean Bridge 72; 3 Fiona More (21) Golspie 73.

Bronze Two handicap winner of the Challenge Salver was Jinty Wright 36 (Royal Dornoch) 67; 2 Pauline Marshall (30) Tarbat 70; 3 Linda Offin (33) Bonar Bridge/Ardgay 71.

Nearest the pin was Kathleen Mackenzie, Royal Dornoch.

Best Senior outwith the prizes was Maureen Mackay, Royal Dornoch.

Best local lady outwith the prizes was Jeani Hunter.

Best Birdie Liz Coghill of Royal Dornoch on the 5th and best 36 handicapper was Lyndsay Stott, Thurso.
