CAITHNESS Shinty Club met Kinlochbervie Camanachd on Saturday 25th January at Naver Pitch in Thurso, in their first match of 2015.

With a fair few inches of snow on the ground, the team had a quick run around to clear the lines before the match got under way.

Despite KLB having the wind in their favour in the first half, the game started off quite even, with both sides spurning chances in front of goal.

Despite some resolute defending though,

KLB managed to score three goals by half time, thanks to some fine shooting from Donald Mackay.

With a weaker wind assisting the Caithness side in the second half, they set about chasing KLB’s lead. Again both teams were evenly matched, but Caithness, sporting their new kits, struggled to convert their chances.

Despite two goals from Caithness Captain Alan MacDonald, KLB managed to secure a fourth goal against the run of play, scored by James Flett, sealing victory for the North Sutherland side.
