HELMSDALE United are one game away from winning the North West Sutherland League after thrashing Inver 8–1.

Donnie Ross scored a hat-trick with Kevin Cairns grabbing a double along with Ally MacRae, Paul Gordon and Alfie Mackay also finding the net.

United are waiting for a date for the final match of the season and league decider against Golspie Stafford.

Nearest challengers Lairg Rovers remain one point behind the leaders as they defeated Lochinver 5–2.

Elsewhere, Lochbroom thrashed Dornoch City 6–0.

Lochbroom stamped their authority on the match as they took a 4-0 lead in the first half with some great football being played.

Stuart Mackay and Kyle Maclean both scored twice along with goals from Ben Bruce and Louis Sears.

Golspie Stafford were unable to field a team against Melvich.
