Helmsdale darts player wins major doubles tournament in Inverness

IT was doubles delights for Nicky Denoon and Michael Maclean after the pair were crowned Inverness Summer Doubles champions for the first time in seven years.

Denoon from Helmsdale, who won the title with Maclean in 2015, lifted the title for the second time after defeating 2014 winners Sandy Morrison and George Main 3–1 in the final.

It was Maclean’s third title having previously won with Doug Milne in 2011.

A total of 27 pairs competed in the competition held at the Innes Bar in Inverness.
