Darts players make a fine pair to win doubles tournament in Inverness

Helmsdale darts star Nicky Denoon cemented his position as top player in the Highlands with two fantastic results.

He partnered Derek Maclean to the Inverness A League Doubles title and then was defeated by Grampian’s Jamie Bain in the final of the SDA Mens Tour Grand Final.

The Innes Bar Inverness Winter Darts League A League Doubles were held in SoBar and the 22 entries were quickly whittled down to Denoon and Maclean from Portland A and Battlefield Bullies who would face Still Game duo Fraser Cairney and Andrew Davidson in the final, with Denoon and Maclean triumphant.

The losing semi-finalists were Gary Gunn and Dave McGruer (Tarradale) and George Main and John Duncanson (Battlefield Bullies).

Jordan Morrison and Kyle Maclennan from Raigmore took the B League title with a final victory over defending champions Bruce MacDonald and Dave Clayton.

Making up the last four were Andy Riddell and Andy McMahon and Tam Mulraine and Alan MacDonald.

Liam Macaskill and Wayne Ridgers beat PJ Judge and Robbie Duncanson in the C League final.
