The North West Sutherland League 1 contenders recorded a 3–1 win over rivals Lochinver at Ferrycroft Park in the only league game of the day.

Rovers broke the deadlock after just five minutes when Mackay added the finishing touch to a through ball from Neil Macdonald.

He notched his second midway through the first half, getting on the end of a long goal kick from Ryan Renwick.

Lairg netted their third goal early in the second half, with Mackay on target for his treble with a goal from the penalty spot. The award came after he was taken down in the eighteen yard box by Lochinver defender Scott Paterson.

Jake Lockett did manage to reduce the deficit by scoring Lochinver's only goal late in the game.

The result creates a three-point gap between Lairg and Lochinver in League 1. The teams had previously shared bottom spot on a point apiece.

Golspie Stafford remain in first place with nine points.
