Last season, Golspie recorded a 2-0 victory at Hawick Royal Albert United before going out in the first round 3-0 to Civil Service Strollers.

Manager Mark McKernie says playing in the Scottish Cup is a challenge they are relishing.

While admitting the North Caledonian League is the priority, they are looking to impress at the Excelsior Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“The Scottish Cup is not our bread and butter, but it is a bonus to play in,” he said.

“But you also want to do well in the competition.

“There is a financial incentive, but it is not something that the club are relying on.

“But it is a match that we are looking forward to.

“We are going down there with a game plan and see where it takes us from there.”
The match is taking place at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie at 4.30pm tomorrow.

Glasgow University play in the West of Scotland League Second Division and have had a poor start to the campaign.

They have lost three of their first four games of the season with only one victory as they are in 11th place in the 16-team division.

Golspie Sutherland are one of three North Caledonian League teams in Scottish Cup action tomorrow afternoon.

Champions Invergordon are
set to make their debut in the competition when they face Newtongrange Star at the Global Energy Stadium in Dingwall.

Fort William, who were relegated to the North Caledonian League from the Highland League last season, will host west of Scotland League club Benburb.
