Golspie Sutherland are 90 minutes away from silverware after booking their place in the North Caledonian Cup final.

Having already defeated league leaders Loch Ness once, Golspie had every reason to be confident going into their second encounter in as many weeks in the semi final.

It threatened to go against them this time, as Keith Mason gave Loch Ness the lead in just the sixth minute, but Golspie came back strongly.

Sam Mackay levelled the scores in the 14th minute, and found the net again 10 minutes after half time to send his side into the final.

There, they will face Invergordon, who defeated Nairn County A 2-0 in the other semi final.

Benjamin Kelly and Stuart Leslie found the back of the net for Gary Campbell’s men, who are still in with a chance of lifting the league title too.

Bonar Bridge’s bid to avoid finishing at the bottom of the table took a hit as they lost 8-0 at Fort William.

Martin Munro scored a hat trick for the Fort, with Darren Quigg netting either side of the interval and Andrew Mclean, Logan Barker and an own goal completing the scoring.

Elsewhere, St Duthus picked up a valuable three points at Inverness Athletic, winning 3-2.

Clachnacuddin A recorded their biggest victory of the season, seeing off Thurso 7-0, while Orkney defeated Halkirk United 3-0.

One league match also took place during the week, as Invergordon kept control of the title race with a 2-1 win over Clachnacuddin A thanks to Andrew Miller’s 96th minute winner.

Tomorrow sees both Sutherland teams going head-to-head, as Bonar Bridge host Golspie Sutherland.

League leaders Loch Ness will go to St Duthus hoping that Inverness Athletic can do them a favour against Invergordon.

The North Caley’s two colts teams face off as Nairn County A host Clach A, while the remaining matches see Orkney host Fort William and Thurso travel to Alness United.
