Due to Ness United travelling from Shetland, the game was switched to neutral ground in Thurso.

But the North West Sutherland League leaders had no issue with the change of venue as they proved too good on the day.

Sam Mackay sent Golspie on their way to victory after 14 minutes when he headed home a Gary Pullen corner kick. Robbie Murray doubled Stafford’s advantage five minutes later.

Golspie were then awarded a penalty and Pullen converted to give Golspie a 3-0 lead at half time.

Murray killed the game off in the second half to send Stafford into the next round of the competition.

Golspie will face Lewis and Harris League outfit Carloway in the last 16 in Ullapool on Saturday, June 24.

Inver are the only other North West Sutherland League outfit remaining in the competition after they defeated Ferrybache 2-1 in Inverness.

Ferrybache were in front for most of the game, but late goals from Alex Mackenzie and Dave Macgruer gave Inver victory.

Inver travel to Inverness to face Clachnacuddin Reserves in the last 16 also on Saturday, June 24.
