Golspie Sutherland will be playing in the first round proper of the Scottish Cup.

A 264-mile trip each way to Hawick Royal Albert proved no barrier for the North Caley outfit, who won 2-1 at Albert Park this afternoon in the second preliminary round of the competition.

Korbyn Cameron gave Golspie the lead half an hour into their cup tie, and that advantage was solidified when Hawick were reduced to 10 men before half time.

Still, the hosts pulled one back 10 minutes after the restart, before Mark Mackenzie scored the winner 15 minutes from time to send Golspie through.

It was the third time the clubs had met at Albert Park, with Golpsie this time making it a hat-trick of victories, having previously also won in Hawick in 2012 and 2021.

Now, Mark McKernie's men can look forward to the first round draw, which will be made tomorrow at 7.30pm.
