GOLSPIE High School celebrated success at the Small Schools Football Finals when their S1 boys team were crowned champions.
The team captained by Euan Macleod and featured Roane Campbell, Callum Gordon, Oliver Murray, Charlie Roberts, Sandy Ross Tyler Sutherland, Cameron Vaugh and Korey Young lifted the trophy at Glenurquhart High School at Drumnadrochit.
The competition involved two north qualifying rounds with one held in Dornoch and the other in Ullapool.
In the finals, two north teams and two south teams compete in a semi final and then final in different age groups.
The S1 boys team brought silverware back to Golspie High School.
They comfortably won their semi final and held their nerve in their final to bring home the cup to the school trophy cabinet.
Golspie High School PE teacher Trisha Macrae says the boys did the school proud and deserved to be crowned champions after excellent performances throughout the tournament.
She said: “These boys dominated every game like a well-oiled machine throughout the whole competition, demonstrating strong performances and maturity beyond their years.
“We are excited to see them continue to grow and succeed in the game over the next few years.”
Golspie High School entered five teams into the tournament, with four teams qualifying for the finals.
The senior boys teams agonisingly missed out on a place in the final by just one goal.
The remaining teams each went on to finish in third place in their respective age groups.
Both the S1-3 girls and S2/3 boys teams lost their semi final on penalties after they both played well to force the matches into extra-time in what Mrs Macrae says was a devastating way for both teams to miss out on reaching the final.
The senior girls dominated their semi final match, but they were unable to find the net as they went down to a 1-0 defeat.
However, all three of these teams then went on to comfortably win their third place playoff games to finish in a respectable third place in the tournament.
