The mountain runner, from Edderton, is one of 10 Scottish athletes picked in the overall squad of 35, and can now prepare to go to Chiang Mai in Thailand at the start of November.

Gollan will compete in the senior men's up-and-down category, one of three Scots doing so.

The 25-year-old notably won the Highland Cross earlier this year in his first time entering the event, going two places better than his dad who finished third in 1989 – one of four times the elder Gollan competed in the Cross.
