Andy MacRae scored a hat-trick in the first 31 minutes to help Brora Rangers cruise to victory against Nairn County at Station Park.

The Cattachs blew the hosts away with a first half blitz before taking their foot off the pedal after the break to comfortably secure another three points in the Highland League title race.

The champions took the lead in the 16th minute when former Nairn player Max Ewan cruised down the left wing and his cross found Macrae in the box unchallenged who fired home from close range.

Brora doubled their advantage six minutes later when Martin Maclean's cross into the box was only cleared by John Treasurer as far as the edge of the box. MacRae thundered home a low drive off the inside of the right post and into the net.

Jordan MacRae missed a golden opportunity to put Brora 3-0 up before the half hour after he was unchallenged to meet John Pickles's cross from the left wing six yards out directly in front of goal. But fired wide.

But Andrew MacRae grabbed his hat-trick just after the half hour mark. A great passage of play between several players saw Macrae run into the box and fire home from 10 yards out.
