Edderton athlete proves too good in North Cross Country League

ROSS Gollan proved too good for the chasing pack as he claimed victory at the North Cross Country League fixture at Dores.

The East Sutherland Athletic Club runner dominated the field to take first place by27 seconds as he recorded a winning time of 28 minutes and 26 seconds.

Moray Road Runners athletes claimed silver and bronze with Kenny Wilson in second place in a time of 28.53 and James Wilson third in 29.47.

Highland Hill Runners (HHR) athlete Sarah Attwood claimed victory in the senior women’s race when she posted a winning time of 35.32.

Emma Murray of Jog Scotland Kintore was second in 37.10 with Monica Padilla of HHR third in 37.36.

In the under-17 boys race, Roy Taylor of Elgin claimed victory in 21.19 with Kirsten Burnett of Inverness Harriers winning the women’s race in a time of 19.51.

Ross County claimed a 1-2-3 in the under-15’s boys race when Andrew Baird won in 16.30 with Lachlan Thomas second in 17.06 and Kaeden Thomas in 18.15.

Flora Sutherland of Ross County won the under-15 girls’ race in a time of 21.13 with Iona Scott of Inverness Harriers second in 21.22 and Jessica Needs of Peterhead third in 21.29.

Robbie Welsh claimed victory for Ross County in the under-13 boys’ race in 14.30.

Anna Meek won the under-13 girls’ race in a time of 15.27.

Rueben Urquhart of East Sutherland Athletics Club won the under-11 boys race with a time of 5.28. Niamh Doorley of Inverness Harriers won the under-11 girls race in a time of 5.39.
