Tom Dodds won the Brora Seniors Cup with a nett score of 64 in the 18 hole open tournament last Friday.

The cup winner, who plays from a handicap of 25, broke 90 (46/43) for the first time and his nett score of 64 gave him a comfortable winning cushion of three strokes over George Ferguson from the Kenmore Golf Club in Perthshire and Royal Dornoch’s Adrian Baggot.

Ferguson’s nett 67, off 11, had the consolation of winning the low handicap section on a better last nine holes from Baggot, with local Peter Etheridge in third place.

Royal Dornoch provided the scratch winner in Peter Lee who came home in level par 35 with one birdie and one bogey, to add to his first nine of 39. His gross 74 won by two from clubmates Mike Mackintosh (39/37) and Robin Wilson (38/38).

Visiting golfers did very well in the high handicap group. John Neilson from Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, led with a nett 68, off 16, with Richard Wylie (Ullapool) and Robert Stewart (Eriskay) both two strokes adrift on nett 70.
