Sutherland and Brora Rangers go head-to-head in derby to open 2023 Highlands and Islands League season

The 2023 Highlands and Islands League season gets under way this weekend, with a Sutherland derby kicking things off.

Brora Rangers, whose young squad will be undoubtedly be stronger with another year of experience under their belts, will host a Sutherland side who will be looking to remain in contention for silverware.

Elsewhere, Caithness host Clachnacuddin, and there is a home match for newly-formed Ross and Cromarty – made up of former ICT Development players – against Orkney.

One match, though, has already been postponed as defending champions Buckie and Nairn St Ninian will have to wait a little longer to get their competitive year up and running.
