Brora Rangers do not expect to sign a new goalkeeper before this weekend’s North of Scotland Cup final.

Manager Craig Campbell revealed he was looking to add some competition for Ruardhi Nicol after Joe Malin suffered a serious injury.

However, Nicol would have played against Clachnacuddin regardless having featured in the earlier rounds of the competition, and Campbell intends to step up their pursuit after the final is out of the way.

“We’re still trying to pursue that at the moment, but it’s pretty difficult,” he explained.

“We looked at a loan, and it wasn’t to be. We also had a player that had retired, but the club still have his registration and weren’t willing to do business with us.

“I understand that from their point of view, they have to look after their own club, so we’ll get the cup final out of the way and then we’ll put a bigger focus on what we’re going to do from there.”
