Cairns claims RNLI trophy

THE RNLI Pool Trophy was held at the Bannockburn Inn in Helmsdale when The winner’s prize was their name on the trophy and – thanks to a donation from the Brora Co-operative – £30 of gift vouchers.

The competition kicked off at 2pm. With lots of encouragement from the bystanders, the battle lasted until 8.30pm, when the winner emerged as Billy Cairns, Helmsdale.

This is the second time Billy has won the RNLI Pool Trophy, joining Shaun Macrae in an exclusive club of two who have won it twice.

The raffle was the next highlight with a bottle of malt whisky going to Phillip Marshall and a haunch of venison, donated by Kildonan Lodge, won by Andy Sutherland.

It was a successful night and thanks go to the proprietors of the Bannockburn Inn and committee members who undertook the catering.
