Lois Morrison came close with a header from a Roma MacRae in-swinging corner which sailed just over the bar, but Brora had to be content with a 1–0 lead at half time.

Player manager Mary Stewart was pleased they came out on top in a hard fought victory at Brora Playing Fields.

"We are pleased to take the three points in a game where we know we didn't play our best but sometimes you just have to grind out results," she said.

"It's pleasing to score a couple of very good goals - first of the season for both players.

"It's encouraging to see goals coming from all over the park just now for Brora - we're starting to see goal threats throughout the team and that's something we've struggled with in the past."

She added: "We are continually looking to develop our young players and gave a couple of them a run out again against Kirkwall.

"We've been very impressed with the contribution from our young squad this season so far and they will improve with every game they play at this level.

"This will help with the sustainability of the ladies team in the years to come."
