The Cattachs put in a good performance in the first half and were only 2-1 down at half time.

But Buckie showed their class in the second half to secure victory.

The defeat means Brora Rangers remain bottom of the table with no points from their first five matches.

Sutherland got their Highlands and Islands League campaign back on track when they defeated Ross and Cromarty 3-0 at Couper Park in Helmsdale.

Sutherland took the lead from the penalty spot which Tracey Montgomery converted to make it 1-0.

Montgomery went on to score a second with Leanne Lothian also finding the net to secure victories for Sutherland.

The win moves Sutherland into third place in the table, three points behind league leaders Orkney and behind on goal difference to Buckie.

Orkney are the team to beat in the league this season as they made it five wins out of five, but were made to work hard in their 2-1 win against Caithness in Castletown.

Caithness took the lead in the first half through club captain Carly Erridge.

But Orkney equalised in the second half through Karen Jarvie-Fisher before Katie Rafferty scored the winners for the Orcadians.

Clachnacuddin were also victorious last weekend after a 3-0 win over Nairn St Ninian in Inverness.

Lucy Macdonald scored twice for the Lily Ladies with Megan Murray also finding the net to give them victory.

The league takes a break this weekend as the Highlands and Islands League Cup quarter finals are on Sunday.

Brora Rangers have home advantage when they face Nairn St Ninian at School Park.

Sutherland Women are aiming to make their third consecutive final, when they travel to league leaders Orkney. Buckie face Clachnacuddin and Caithness take on Ross and Cromarty.
