Brora Rangers return to Highland League action after victory in North of Scotland Cup quarter final

BRORA Rangers will look to get their Highland League title challenge back on track when they travel to Kynoch Park to face Keith tomorrow afternoon.

The Cattachs will return to action in the league after playing their last two matches in cup competition.

It included an epic nine-goal thriller on Wednesday night when they defeated Clachnacuddin 7-3 at Dudgeon Park in the North of Scotland Cup quarter final.

The Cattachs stormed into a 3-0 lead after 26 minutes with Max Ewan opening the scoring after three minutes.

Gregor Macdonald doubled Brora’s advantage after nine minutes when he slotted home a cross from Ewan.

Jordan Macrae then made it 3-0 after 26 minutes when he was unchallenged to connect with a cross and guide it into the net.

An own goal did reduce the deficit to make it 3-1 at half time and it sparked a remarkable comeback from Clachnacuddin in the second half.

Calum Ferguson scored for the visitors eight minutes after the break and Ben Cormack levelled the game shortly after the hour mark.

But Brora restored their lead with 20 minutes remaining when Jordan Macrae headed home a Paul Brindle cross.

Three minutes later Ewan capitalised on a mix up in the Clachnacuddin defence to make it 5-3.

The game was killed off when Brindle scored with seven minutes left to secure their place in the semi final of the competition with Ewan claimed his hat-trick in injury time.

Brora look to get back to winning ways in the league after a 1-1 draw against Inverurie Locos in their last league match.

n Golspie Sutherland put in a brave performance against a strong Ross County team before losing 3-0 in the North of Scotland Cup quarter final clash.

First team players Alex Samuel and Scott High gave the Premiership outfit a 2-0 lead at half time.

Jay Henderson, who was on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle last season, scored a third after the break to kill the game off for Ross County.
