Brora Rangers pay the penalty in Scottish Cup first round exit to Open Goal Broomhill in Cumbernauld

BRORA Rangers have been knocked out of the Scottish Cup first round after defeat to Open Goal Broomhill in extra time.

Jamie Semple gave Open Goal Broomhill the lead after 19 minutes when he drove a low strike into the bottom left corner.

Brora equalised seven minutes from time when Tony Dingwall dinked the ball over the goalkeeper.

Open Goal Broomhill regained the lead in the 88th minute when Evan Baley scored.

But Brora forced the game into extra time when Martin Maclean scored a long range effort in injury time.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men before full time when Simon Ferry was sent off for a second yellow card.

But Open Goal were awarded a penalty in the 98th minute which Alan Cook converted to give the hosts the lead as they held on to knock the Cattachs out of the competition.
