MANAGER Craig Campbell is challenging Brora Rangers to show Fraserburgh how far they have come since being thrashed by them at the start of the season by knocking them out of the Highland League Cup.

The last time Brora played at Bellslea they were on the end of a 6–2 hiding by Fraserburgh, which resulted in former manager Steven Mackay standing down hours afterwards.

Now Campbell is challenging his team to show much they have improved since then and book their place in the final on Saturday.

"These are the games that we want to play and why we have the squad that we have got," he said.

"Fraserburgh gave us a tough game at the start of the season when we were on the end of a heavy defeat.

"But we have come a long way since then, they are a team that play direct and we are looking to give a better account of ourselves that we did the last time."

The winners will face either Forres Mechanics or Buckie Thistle who meet in the other semi final on Saturday.

The Cattachs head to Bellslea on the back of thrashing Forres Mechanics 8–0 in a ruthless performance at Mosset Park on Wednesday night.

Campbell says he was thrilled with the ruthlessness his team showed saying they displayed the hunger he is looking for heading into the final games of the season.

"Forres have picked up lately and had a good run of results.

"We came expecting a difficult tie, but I thought our boys were superb with the intensity, passed the ball and worked hard off the ball and we got what we deserved for that.

"I'm delighted with the performance, a clean sheet and eight goals."
Brora Rangers are still in the Highland League title race in third place, only three points behind leaders Fraserburgh and two behind second place Buckie Thistle with the top two having a game in hand on the Sutherland outfit.

But with seven games still to play, including against the top two, Campbell believes there is still time to catch both teams, defend their title, and earn another crack in the League Two play-offs where the winners will meet Lowland League champions Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic in the semi-final.

"There is a lot still to play, we still have to play Fraserburgh and Buckie Thistle and we know it is a tough ask.

"But if we win our remaining games, that could get us to a total that would win the Highland League most years."
