The Cattachs are in third place in the Highland League on 37 points, six points behind league leaders Brechin City.

Brora Rangers have a great record against Wick Academy, having not lost to the Caithness outfit since their North of Scotland Cup first round clash in 2015, when they were defeated in a penalty shoot-out at Dudgeon Park.

Manager Craig Campbell says the north derby is always a tasty fixture and is looking for his team to keep up their eight-year unbeaten run against their Caithness opponents.

“We have a good record against Wick Academy, but they always give us a tough game,” says Campbell.

“It is a derby and it is over the festive period which can make it a tricky tie, but always one we look forward to.

“It was a tie that I always enjoyed playing in and hopefully the boys feel the same and be up for getting the three points.”

James Wallace will miss the match as he has suffered a set-back with his recovery from his knee injury, with goalkeeper Joe Malin still missing as he recovers from injury.

Campbell is pleased with how the season has gone so far and only being six points behind Brechin at the top.

He says they are capable of challenging for the title and will look to keep achieving positive results.

“I would rather we were top, but credit to Brechin as they have set a high standard this season. Buckie Thistle are thereabouts as well and there are ourselves too.

“There is a lot of football to be played, but all we can do is keep racking up the three points. Once the big games come around, they will take care of themselves, but it is important we take one game at a time and racking up the three points.”
