MANAGER Craig Campbell says he would like to bring in a few more players to boost his squad for their Highland League title challenge this season.

The Cattachs have only brought in two new additions so far with winger Ross Gunn from Rothes and goalkeeper Ruardhri Nicol from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

But manager Campbell says he would like some more new additions, but believes the personnel he does have possess the quality required to win a league championship.

“Number wise, we could do with a couple more in the squad,” says Campbell.

“Saying that, the numbers we do have are quality players and we are not going to add numbers to the squad just for the sake of it.

“We want to add the right players that will improve our squad.

Brora Rangers are top of the Highland League after defeating Clachnacuddin 4-0 in Inverness last weekend.

Andrew Macrae opened the scoring with Jordan Macrae going on to score twice and Josh Meekings also finding the net with all the goals coming in the first half.

Tomorrow, they welcome new boys Banks O’Dee to Dudgeon Park, who picked their first win of the season last weekend after thrashing Huntly 5-2 in Aberdeen.

They are also undefeated after picking up a draw with Nairn County and Inverurie Locos in their first two matches.

Campbell says Brora are well aware of the danger Banks O’Dee possess, saying they are a team which has added real quality to the Highland League.

“We know Banks O’Dee have brought quality to the Highland League,” said Campbell.

“They will be competitive and they have already shown that.

“They are going to cause a few teams problems this season, and we will need to acquit ourselves to the highest level we can if we are going to get a result on Saturday.”

Brora Rangers are also through to the second round of the SPFL Trust Trophy after defeating Aberdeen Colts 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Both the goals came in the second half through Jordan Macrae and Andrew Macrae.

Campbell says winning the Highland League is the club’s main priority.

But he says victory on Tuesday night against a Premiership’s youth team will help improve the momentum going into the next few weeks.

“The Highland League is our priority, but when you get a few wins together, you want to keep momentum,” he said.

“Both of our strikers scored in the game and that is a positive thing for confidence going forward into the next game.

“We introduced a few substitutes in the second half and that freshness certainly helped us out.

“The colts team had a lot of quality and had a bite about them.

“I was impressed with the way Aberdeen went about their business and made it a competitive game.”
