BRORA Rangers will be looking to record their first win of the season when they host Orkney in the Highlands and Islands League on Sunday.

The Cattachs returned to action after the summer break last weekend when they suffered a 5–0 defeat to Caithness in Thurso.

Anna Foubister and captain Carly Erridge each scored twice at The Dammies and there was also a goal for Heather Mackay on her debut.

Brora Rangers are bottom of the table having lost all nine matches so far this season.

With Kirkwall City withdrawing from the competition halfway through the campaign, all their results have been made null and void.

It means that Brora’s goals tally has been reduced to zero with a goals against tally of 60.

Meanwhile, Sutherland suffered a blow in the title race when they were held to a 3–3 draw by Clachnacuddin in Helmsdale.

Tracey Montgomery put Sutherland in the lead midway through the first half at Couper Park.

But Clachnacuddin were 2–1 ahead at half time. Chloe Macleod equalised for the Lily Ladies and Claire Masterton scored from a free kick from long range to put the Inverness outfit in front.

The visitors then went 3–1 in front as Macleod scored her second of the match.

But Sutherland stormed back to level the match.

Montgomery scored her second of the game when she pounced on the Clachnacuddin goalkeeper spilling the ball.

Then in the dying minutes of the game, Jane Moodie connected with a corner kick to fire in a shot from long range which went straight into the top left corner to earn them a point.

But Sutherland are still four points behind league leaders Buckie who have two games in hand.

Sutherland face league leaders Buckie in the next match on Sunday, August 28 in Helmsdale, knowing defeat could realistically end any chance of them winning the championship.

Other league matches on Sunday will see Clachnacuddin take on Caithness in Inverness with Nairn St Ninian taking on champions Inverness Caledonian Thistle Development at Nairn Showfield on Sunday.
