The draw means Brechin City are now four points behind leaders Buckie Thistle, but do have a game in hand.

However, Brechin City’s title fate remains in their own hands as they head to Buckie Thistle on the final day of the season as it looks to be the one of the most exciting title races in Highland League history.

Brora Rangers can’t win the league, but will be looking to finish the season in third place as they are three points behind Formartine United.

Brora are set to face Formartine on Saturday at Dudgeon Park and can move into third place with a victory due to a far superior goal difference.

It is one of four matches Brora Rangers have remaining this season.

They are scheduled to face Lossiemouth at Dudgeon Park on Wednesday night.

Brora Rangers then welcome Huntly to Dudgeon Park on Saturday, April 15 and they host Rothes on the final day of the season.

Elsewhere in the Highland League on Wednesday night, champions Fraserburgh required an injury time goal to rescue a point against Clachnacuddin in a 1–1 draw in Inverness.

Harry Hennem gave Clachnacuddin the lead in the first half and looked like holding on to victory until Sean Butcher scored the equaliser in the last action of the game.

Wick Academy’s dreadful season continued as they lost 2-0 at Keith.

Keith broke the deadlock after three minutes when James Brownie pounced on a mistake by goalkeeper Graeme Williamson to fire the ball into the net.

Matthew Tough doubled their advantage on the stroke of half time from six-yards out.

In the Highland League on Saturday, leaders Buckie Thistle will look to extend their advantage at the top of the table when they head to Strathspey Thistle.

Brechin City are not in action tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Keith face Huntly, Nairn County face Clachnacuddin, Rothes take on Deveronvale and Turriff United face Wick Academy.

The Highland League Cup final also takes place on Saturday as Banks O’Dee will face Inverurie Locos in Fraserburgh.
