Brora golfer reaches semi final of Scottish Amateur Championship at Royal Dornoch

Brora Golf Club member Chris Mailley has reached the semi finals of the Scottish Amateur Championship at Royal Dornoch.

He has reached the final day of the competition at the Sutherland course and is only two matches away from becoming Scottish amateur champion.

Mailley made it through the last 16 of the tournament when he defeated Steve Stamper from Turnberry 3/2 followed by beating Ben Read from Banchory by 2up after 18 holes.

He will face Gregor Tait in the semi final with the match due to tee off at 8.15am.

The winner will face Cameron Adam from Royal Burgess or Jack MacDonald from Roxburghe in the final which is scheduled to tee-off at 12.30pm
